My three favorite things ever, Church, Emiri, and Sister Brown Hey y'all, its me, Sister Rogel, from the Loosiana Baton Rouge Mission. There were't any tornadoes this week so I can't freak y'all out about anything, but it was pretty funny to hear about how y'all thought it was real! I got a kick out of that!  Not a lot happened this week, I went on exchanges pretty much the whole week. Sister Brown is a Sister Training Leader (STL) so she goes around to all the sisters in our zone, to visit with them and see how they are doing. Since we work in companionships, and I am still a greenie (New Missionary), Sister Brown's STL companion is sister Trussell who is working in Leesivlle. So once a week, or in this case, twice a week, we all switch companions, and I go to Leesville to be with Sister Trussell's companion, Sister Manyard! I love her so much and have learned so much from her! So my week went a little like this: Monday was Pday and we jus

We went to the American Cemetery  to look for some of my ancestors Hey y'all! I'm just here, in the greatest state in the US surviving flash floods, and tornadoes. Hope y'all are having fun with the snow! We woke up Wednesday morning to the sound of tornado warning sirens, Shortly after getting our 72 hour kits and other necessities in the car, we got a call from president Varner to drive to the Alexandria Stake center and stay there until it passed. so we get on the road for an hour ish, long drive there, and the wind and rain was so bad we could barely see, so we were driving pretty slow. Shortly after that, everything clears up, it stopped raining, but the wind was still really bad. As we are starting to speed up a little bit, we see it. The biggest Cyclone I've ever seen. bigger than the one on The Wizard of Oz for sure. So we speed up, and we're all freaking out as it gets closer and closer to our car, we're all screaming individual prayers for

Winter is Over

Sister Maynard and I Hey y'all! It is officially really hot and humid here, although everyone says it's only gonna get worse, so I'm really looking forward to that!  This week was really fun! I spent Valentine's day in Leesville with sister Maynard because her companion, and my companion had to go to Baton Rouge for a training meeting! So we spent most of the day putting the area book in our phones because their car was in the shop. It was lots of fun actually! We got to know each other better. Yesterday we had stake conference and they talked a lot about going to the temple and receiving the blessings that are there. It made me really miss the temple. So everyone take the time to go this week in honor of me!! And also so that y'all can get blessin's!  Also! On Friday we went to NSU and did our little booth again! We met a girl there and one of the Many elders talked to her about the page of the Book of Mormon she read. He said she had highli

Hey y'all! I hope your week was pretty great! Some of you have seen me on Facebook, I'll try not to drive you crazy with posts, but I just wanted to tell you the rules! I can't like or reply to any comments or posts until p day, and I can't chat on messenger! So please email me! We have a baptism scheduled on Feb. 24th and we are so grateful. I'm also so grateful for the people that got me on my mission so that I could meet learn from others! I'm so grateful for the cousins that have served before me, and with me! I'm so grateful for that aunts and uncles that showed me their awesome example by serving and especially for my parents!  Technology in the mission is so cool! We were able to teach someone via Skype on Saturday night! So dang cool to teach someone four hours away from us and to still feel the spirit so strong! We taught her the plan of salvation, and told her about temples and how we can do our family history and she loved it! She's

Our Bumpin Booth! Hey Y'all!! I hope you had a great week! I know I did, I've been wearing my bike helmet a lot more and I haven't had any accidents too horrible! Thanks for your prayers! We set up our booth again yesterday and ran into her and she said she couldn't sleep at all Sunday night because she was so excited about church! She said it was everything she's been wanting! That booth has gotten us six new investigators just this week! it's so great to teach people our own age! I know this last transfer was hard and trying, but I have grown in faith, and I have grown so much as a missionary. I am so thankful for those missionaries who came before us. I am so thankful for our Savior who sent me here to have these trials and learn so much so that I could be ready to teach her and love her. I am so thankful that I am able to see the blessings coming forth in my life. I know I am doing something right and that everything I am doing her

Slipped in the mud in the Kisatchie Forest Hey y'all! I hope every one has had a good five days! I know it's been so long since you last heard from me so bare with me and the length of this email.  Some great news!!! Our mission is expanding! July 1st, we will have the Jackson Mississippi Mission as a part of our mission! So I could spend a lot of my time in Mississippi!! I'm so excited! It will be so cool to have double the missionaries, and a huge mission! More good news, Today is my Two month anniversary! I survived two months of mission by the skin of my teeth. Some funny news! Last p day we went to a small hike in Kisatchie forest down in Leesville to a little place called Wolf Cave. It's literally just a little cave at the bottom of a rock, but it was pretty fun to explore around it. You all know I don't have great knees, so I wasn't willing to wander very far, but when i finally decided to join the group of us that were crossing a small bo

Mardi Gras hat I saw at Walmart Hey y'all! I hope y'all are doing great! I hope everyone is having fun with the snow! We finally got rid of ours, and it's back up to nice 60 degrees every day! This week was so great! We moved into our new apartment and it's sooo big! I, of course, got the biggest closet, so you could say I'm pretty happy with the move. I'll try to send a video tour of it! On Friday we met with someone at NSU campus to set up a booth and find new investigators that way. We are very excited to stop knocking doors, and find people our own age to teach! We will start that tomorrow! After that we went to Many for a technology training meeting that was four hours long! But! We get our smartphones soon! which also means, coming Febuarary 8th or so, you'll see me on Facebook! Don't worry! I haven't come home or broken any rules! Also, all you future missionaries out there reading this, be so grateful for the missionaries that h
