Happy New Year!

Hey Y'all! I hope your New year started better than ours!

Our week was pretty successful! I've officially been out one month and it feels like I will never go home, but I'm kinda loving Natchitoches, even though it's freezing here. You better believe I'm wearing my pajama pants under a maxi dress with fuzzy socks and boots on right now. You could say I'm okay with it here.

Our apartment as I've mentioned in a one bedroom one bathroom apartment, with four girls living in it. So it just worked out that my bed was in the middle of the floor in our tiny bedroom. Well that was really overwhelming to all of us, so we spent one morning moving couches around, and putting box springs under beds to get them out of the way. My bed is finally out of the middle of the room, and I know that this literally doesn't matter to any of you, but you have no idea how happy I am to have a real bed that isn't in everyone's way, and the dumping grounds for everyone's stuff. We found out that we might be moving around the 15th of January!

On Thursday Sister Brown and I were feeling pretty down and we had just pulled into the parking lot of our apartment complex and we were just talking about what we could do to get an investigator, or how we could help each other, and then we saw some people moving out of the apartment close to ours, so we went over and asked if we could help. We explained that we were missionaries from our church, and that we are set apart to help people and do service. They asked what church we were apart of, and I said, "The Church of Latter Day Saints."  I looked at Sister brown all proud of myself until I realized that I had left the most important part out! Obviously I fixed my mistake, but they were super interested in hearing more about what we have to say! Except they live outside our mission, so we have to hand them over to another set of missionaries in the Mississippi mission.

New Years eve we got a text from the APs that said we could fellowship with ward members from 6-9 pm, so we went over to a members house and had dinner with them and played Ticket to Ride, which is actually a super fun game. We also decorated sugar cookies, made me feel like home because I'm sad I missed out on Jan's cookie party this year. When we got home that night, we walked in and knew that our neighbors were having fun, because our entire apartment smelled like weed. I had the worst headache trying to fall asleep.

We woke up yesterday morning to the alarm, and then to the sounds of Sister Brown yaking. Food poisoning isn't the way she wanted to start the year. but because she was sick, she slept another three hours, and after I cancelled and rescheduled our (2) appointments we had for that day, I fell asleep for another hour too. Maybe it wasn't how she wanted to start the year, but you know I loved spending the day in my pajama's and writing letters. It was exactly how I wanted to start my day and I have decided to poison my comp at least once a month. Just kidding! We had made plans to meet in Provencal with the Many Elders to tract that whole town, and because she was feeling better, we bundled up in our warmest clothes, and headed out in the 27 degree weather. We ended up knocking three doors total, (one for everyone companionship there) and then we went to IHOP for dinner. It was a pretty successful way to start the New Year if you ask me!

I hope y'all are keeping warm and making good goals! I miss you all and can't wait to hear all about your New Years eve parties! i love you all so much and I know that the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints is the true church! I love this Gospel so much and I love the people of Nak-i-dish so much. I hope y'all have blessed new years!
